My name is Mr. Hart, and this is my 16th year teaching at the READY Program and my 18th year teaching overall. I grew up in Mahomet, IL and graduated from Mahomet-Seymour High School. After high school, I attended Purdue University where I majored in Social Studies Education. I also obtained my master's degree in Education Organization and Leadership at the University of Illinois .
Throughout high school, I was involved in sports and music. At Purdue, I continued participating in music as I played the tuba in the Purdue "All American" Marching Band. Playing in the band kept me busy and it kept me near Big Ten athletics - something that I love! The picture below was taken during my senior year of college when the band traveled to Champaign for a Purdue-Illinois football game (which Purdue won!).
When I am not teaching, I enjoy following Purdue sports. I also enjoy traveling to different Big Ten sports stadiums (I've been to every football stadium except Maryland and Rutgers) and playing golf. I also like to travel having been to the UK, France, Germany, Martinique, Mexico, and I most recently went to Jamaica. In the summer, I like to umpire baseball and love to relax by the pool side. I am also a big baseball fan (go Cubs!), and I am the head baseball coach at Jefferson Middle School in Champaign.
I very much enjoy teaching at the READY Program and working with students. I hope that you will find me approachable and willing to help you both academically and personally. I value each student that comes into my classroom, and I will do what I can to help you succeed.
