SOCIOLOGY
This semester-long course will provide an overview of the basic concepts of sociology. This course will introduce sociology as a social science, explore sociological research, and investigate several sociological topics such as culture, social interaction, and social class. Students will also investigate their own sociological issue by conducting their own research. The following topics will be addressed in this class:
- Unit 1: Intro to Sociology
- Unit 2: Culture, Norms, and Social Groups
- Unit 3: Socialization and Social Development
- Unit 4: Gender Development and Gender Issues
- Unit 5: Social Status and Social Stratification
Mr. Hart utilizes Google Classroom! Please ask him for the classroom code to enroll in this class. Through Google Classroom, you will receive and submit assignments, be able to view in class notes that you might have missed, and receive class updates and announcements.
