Computer Applications
This semester long course will provide students with basic computer skills. Students will improve their keyboarding skills through the use of the "Typing Club" web program. Students will also become proficient at using Google Applications such as Google Docs, Slides, Sheets, Forms, Drawings, and Sites. Throughout the course, students will complete numerous projects, which will require them to demonstrate the computer skills that they have learned throughout the course. Here are the units to be studied:
- Unit 1: Intro to Computers, Windows, and Email
- Unit 2: Google Docs
- Unit 3: Google Sheets
- Unit 4: Google Slides
- Unit 5: Google Forms
- Unit 6: Google Drawings
- Unit 7: Google Sites
- Unit 8: Computer Ethics
Mr. Hart utilizes Google Classroom! Please ask him for the classroom code to enroll in this class. Through Google Classroom, you will receive and submit assignments, be able to view in class notes that you might have missed, and receive class updates and announcements.
Students will use "Typing Club" to improve their keyboarding skills throughout the semester. A portion of each student's grade will be based on on the amount of time spent keyboarding. If a student is absent from class, he/she can sign in from home to make-up missed typing time. Typing Club, the online keyboarding program that we use, can be found at: https://readyprogram.typingclub.com/ . Students login with their their READY email account.
